Email newsletters are an important marketing and communications tool for many non-profit organizations. Very often this newsletter is your only permanent link to many of your constituents. And while it's content is key, there is no denying that the appearance of this newsletter also directly influences how your organization is perceived externally. Unfortunately, designing a newsletter within CiviCRM is not very straightforward, and when this newsletter is sent out it very rarely looks the same for your recipients whether they use Outlook, GMail, or other desktop and/or web-based email clients.
This workshop will go through the pitfalls of newsletter design and give you advise and best practices for creating stunning reusable email templates with CiviCRM. You will learn about optimum email size, designing for the fold, images do's and dont's, differences between email clients, how to create your own email templates and how best to use these in the CiviCRM email editors. There will some hands-on time where you will have the opportunity to create and use your own newsletter templates.
This workshop of intermediate level and is targeted at both end-users and implementers. End-users are required to have a good understanding of the HTML editors used in CiviCRM, while implementers are expected to have a good understanding of HTML tags and CSS styling. End-users and implementers will work on different exercises during the workshop.
